William Ernest ‘Ernie’ McElhinney, age 81, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died
Tuesday morning, May 4, 1993 at the Morning Sun Care Center. he was
born September 27, 1911 in Des Moines County, Iowa, the son of Joseph
and Mamie Kennedy McElhinney. On February 2, 1938 he married Harriett
Kreiner at Wapello. He was a graduate of the Mediapolis High School
and a member of the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church of Morning
Sun. He was a farmer
Survivors include his wife, Harriett; one daughter, Mary King of Mt.
Pleasant; five sons, Joe of Tipton, and Richard, Keith, Kenneth and
Robert all of Morning Sun; eleven grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren and one sister, Lillian Gregory of Morning Sun. He
was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two
