Carole wrote 8/99:

"On page 830 on the 1860 census for Randolph Co., MO I found the following
family which I think is your Francis Marion Evans.

Marion Evans, age 32, farmer, born MO
Lucretia Evans, age 23, born MO
Mary F. Evans, age 6, born MO
Henry O. Evans, age 4, born MO
John J. Evans, age 2, born MO
Lena L. Evans, age 6 months, born MO

The township the family lived in was Prairie Twp near Renick and the date was
Jun 14. I take it that Francis Marion's first wife was already dead by this
time and he had already been remarried to her sister. The family is living
right next to a James & Eliza Terrill who I believe are Lucretia's parents.

I have some marriage CDs but could find no marriage date listed for either
marriage. I did find 4 Evans family in the 1850 census index living in
Randolph Co., MO. They were:

Gaines Evans, Sugar Creek Twp, page 229
J.H. Evans, Union Twp, page 273
John Evans, Union Twp, page 274
Q. S. Evans, Salt Spring Twp, page 220"

He had the following children:

F i Lena L. "Lennie" EVANS was born in 1860 in Randolph Co., MO.

I got this 8/99 from Tony :

The Father of "Miss Lennie L. EVANS, daughter of F. M. EVANS, Moberly.", this is the Francis Marion Evans I am looking for. He was my GGgrandfather, and his second wife Lucretia Ann Terrill my GGgrandmother. His first wife was Lucretia's sister Mary Elizabeth Terrill.

The Elder W.L.T Evans, could possibly be Lennie brother Luther T. Evans born in 1863 in Randolph County(?). I have no indication on what the W. would stand for. As I have said before the Moberly Deskin Cemetery was from what I have been told the Evans homestead. So it would be in the realm of possibility that the family was a very strong religious force in the area, so Luther could have possibly been an elder at a very young age(?) I also have Linnie's given name Lena L. Evans born in 1860 in Randolph County. She had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. I need help in locating additional info on this line.
  F ii Annie Elizabeth EVANS
M iii Luther T. EVANS was born in 1863.

There is a stone in the Deskin Cem. that says "Luther Evans 1861-1884."
M iv George W. EVANS was born in 1865.

The Deskin Cem. in Randolph Co. MO has a George Evans 1868-1870.
  F v Lillian J. EVANS was born in 1866.

James Terrill CHRISTIAN [Parents] was born on 23 Oct 1868 in , Randolph Co., Missouri. He died on 29 Mar 1950 in Claude, , Texas. James married Georgia E. JONES on 5 Apr 1900 in , Jacks Co., Texas.

CHRISTIAN, JAMES TERRILL (1868-1950). James Terrill Christian, rancher, the second of the ten children of George Richard and Louisa (Terrill) Christian, was born near Moberly, Missouri, in 1868. In 1881 the family moved to a homestead on Lynn Creek, near Antelope, Jack County, Texas, where they engaged in ranching and the children received much of their elementary education. In 1889 Jim Christian and his older brother Paul rode west to the Panhandle and were employed as cowhands on the JA Ranch. Although Paul returned to the Jack County homestead after a year, Jim stayed on and was later joined by four younger brothers, Will, Ben, Robert, and Ernest. Robert and another cowhand were killed by lightning during a roundup in 1895.

During his fifteen years as a JA employee, Christian gradually worked his way up from horse wrangler to wagon boss. In 1900 he was made manager of the JA's Mulberry Creek Division, near Claude. On April 5 of that year he married Georgia Jones, whom he had known from his youth; the couple had four children. In 1902 Christian began homesteading two sections of choice land near the rim of Palo Duro Canyon in western Armstrong County and next to the tracts filed on by his brothers Ben and Ernest. He remained with the JA for another year and then began building up his own herd of cattle, which he branded with a Figure 3, similar to that of R. O. Watkins in Kaufman County. After their first two-room house burned in March 1904, the Christians were forced to build again. They also donated a plot of land for a schoolhouse.

Jim and Georgia Christian were both active in community affairs in Claude. He served for years on the school board, while she helped form Armstrong County's first Union Sunday school. They were members of the Disciples of Christ and charter members of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, which they helped to organize. Christian was a longtime Mason and Shriner and was active in the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. The Christians turned
their ranching operations over to their sons in August 1929 and spent their retirement years in Claude. Christian died on March 28, 1950, from the effects of a stroke he had suffered in 1945; he was buried in Claude. Since the breakup and reduction of the JA properties, the Figure 3 remains one of the few ranch homesteads still owned by the family of the original founder. It is noted for its registered purebred Herefords and famous Cowboy Breakfasts held on the north rim of Palo Duro Canyon for tour groups and visiting notables.

I received this inquiry in 8/99:

"I am researching my husband's family. I saw your site and was amazed at all your information. I am interested in one family entry: Wayland, William Claude (1874-1944)

I believe this could be my husbands family. Here's what I know. My husband's mother and father were separated when he was young. He doesn't have much information other than Dry Ridge,KY. I contacted an Audrey Wayland near Covington, KY. I spoke with her about the Wayland's in KY. She read to me some family history of her late husband William E. Wayland. She told me that her husband's father was Fred Wayland and that he had two siblings: Claude and Pauline. She said they were all from Grant Co.,KY (Dry Ridge) We believe that William Claude is my husband's grandfather. I believe that his son William E. (called Bill as my husband remembers) is his father. My husband's name is William Michael Wayland (they call him MIke) He was born in 1956 in Illinois. Do you have any further information on the Bill you listed in the short biography of William Claude? Any information you could provide would be great. I would also love to share all that I have found in my research.
