JEFFERSON C. ROBERTSON,
originally from Randolph county, Missouri, was born March 5, 1849. His father, Hiram ROBERTSON (who died in December, 1880), was a Virginian by birth, and took for his wife Miss Sidney WAYLAND, a daughter of Henry and Ara WAYLAND. By this marriage there were nine children, of whom five are living. Jefferson C., the third in the family, was married in February 1876, to Miss May E. RUCKER, a daughter of Joseph and Eliza RUCKER. They have had four children, of whom Sidney I., Francis E., and Charles J. are living, and an infant is deceased. Mr. RANDOLPH is the possessor of 279 acres of fine land, improved and watered, and within two and a half miles of Yatesville. Politically he is independent.

Gertie ROBERTSON [Parents] was born on 23 Jul 1892 in , Howard Co., Missouri. She died in Feb 1987 in Fayette, Howard Co., Missouri. Gertie married Matthew Harvey MARKLAND on 15 Mar 1911.
I have a copy of this woman's application to the National Society United States Daughters of 1812, where she gives the dates on her line back to Henry Wayland (437). The application says that Henry W. Wayland (first I have seen of this middle initial) served in the War of 1812 in Capt. Joseph Williams Company, First Regiment, Mounted gun men. (Dyers) Tenn. Volunteers. Served from feb 28, 1812 to May 9, 1815, and lived in Charlotte, Dickinson Co., Virginia. This is the first that I had heard of this and I am doubtful that this is the same Henry, but was a mistake. The Henry she is referring to never lived in Dickinson Co. or used the middle initial "W", as far as I know. I have a copy of the Robertson line giving Gertie's 11 siblings' names and their descendents. Place and dod is from SSDI.
Paschal TWYMAN was born about 1797 in , , Virginia. He married Elizabeth MELONE on 3 Dec 1822 in , Orange Co., Virginia.
Found in the 1870 Randolph Co. MO census, age 73 (53?), with Elizabeth, age 72 and: Jane Austin, age 25; Thomas Austin, age 20; and George Austin, age 18...all of these Austins born in Missouri. Also found in the 1850 Howard Co., MO census age 33, b. VA, with Elizabeth age 47 b. VA, and supposed
children: Elizabeth age 19 b. VA, Martha age 16 b. VA, Nancy age 14 b. VA, Malinda age 12 b. VA, Sarah age 10 b. VA, Alice age 8 b. VA, and Arlena age 6 b. VA. From this, he could not have arrived in MO before 1864. His wife was Elizabeth Melone, sister to Ara Melone who m. Henry Wayland. However, it is unlikely that Elizabeth was b. The Paschal found in the 1850 census age 33 may be son of the Elizabeth Twyman with him, as men were put as heads of households often. His mother may have cheated on her age some and been 52, like indicated on the 1870 census. Maybe she was hoping for remarriage at the time and didn't want to say her age. By age 72, she had given up hope and gave it accurately. An 1840 or earlier census might give a light on this.
William Twyman #2495 may be his son.
Elizabeth MELONE [Parents] was born about 1803. She died after 1870. Elizabeth married Paschal TWYMAN on 3 Dec 1822 in , Orange Co., Virginia.
Elizabeth is found in the 1850 Howard Co., Missouri Census with her husband and seven daughters ranging in age from 6 to 19, all in family born in VA.
I later found out that they are in the 1840 Virginia Census with nine children "mostly girls", with one male age 20-30 (b.1810-1820) according to second hand information I have. Also in the 1870 census.

I have a copy of the marriage document where parents sign permission for the marriage 20 Aug 1817. She must have been underage, so I am guessing about the birthdate.
