Information I received, supposedly from the family bible, gives here birthdate as 28 Sept, 1859. This information does not list Thomas J., who was born in 1859, according to the "Historian" article.
Ambrose C. HOLCOMB "Dock" was born in Oct 1855 in GA. He died about 1920 in Moreland, Ark. Dock married Rebecca WAYLAND.
Had children: Charley, John, and Abner. Name also given as "Halcolm."

I have an Ambrose C. (Dock) Holcum/Holcomb, born Oct. 1855, in Georgia, who married Rebecca Wayland in Arkansas. Ambrose died about 1920 near Moreland, Arkansas. He & his family were on the 1880 Izard Co.AR census(he was age 24) and stated his parents were also born in Georgia. In the next household, was a Charles Holcum/Holcomb and wife Martha, ages 48 & 47 and an adopted daughter, Effe Wolfekin, age 6. I believe that Charles was probably Ambrose's father but cannot find any proof. Does anyone know these names or have further information on Charles or Ambrose?

Dave PERRYMAN was born about 1860. He married Henrietta WAYLAND.
His issue was: Anna Bell, who married Peter Bray; Maude, who married Dud Spence; Henryetta, who married Henry Ross; and Robert Ronald Perryman, their only son.

Jonathan LaFayette WAYLAND [Parents] was born on 4 Apr 1863 in , Izard Co., Arkansas. He died on 14 Apr 1930 in Chandler, , Oklahoma. Jonathan married Elizabeth Jane DIXON on 27 Sep 1883 in , Izard Co., Arkansas.
Family information gives date of
birth as April of 1864 (no day given). The "Historian" article says that John lived in the vicinity of Iuka, Izard Co. for many years after marriage, and then moved to Lincoln Co., Oklahoma Territory. When the first Methodist church was established at Midlothian, OK in 1905, John, his wife, and this two dtrs., Anna and Bertha were charter members. One excellent researcher, and descendant, Ronald E. Wayland, gives his birthdate as 4 Apr 1863, and this one is used, rather than the birthdate of 4 Apr 1865 from "Historian".
Elizabeth Jane DIXON was born on 7 Aug 1863. She died on 14 Mar 1919 in Chandler, , Oklahoma. Elizabeth married Jonathan LaFayette WAYLAND on 27 Sep 1883 in , Izard Co., Arkansas.

Robert Henry WAYLAND [Parents] was born on 29 Aug 1868 in , Izard Co., Arkansas. He married Martha Ellen MCNEIL.
The "Historian" article, written by the son of this man, says that
Robert and his wife, using their own funds, built the original Cuberland Presbyterian Church and lodge hall at Pineville, and were charter members in 1914. Land for the original cemetary at Pineville was donated by Robert's son, Philip. There is an excellent photo of Robert and his family, taken in 1906, in the "Historian" article mentioned, written by Paul T. Wayland, son of Robert. Robert was a merchant, land owner, and for many years a stock holder and director of the State Bank of Calico Rock. At the time of his death, he was president of that institution. Geneva Wayland says that he went by the name of "Bob" and lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Martha Ellen MCNEIL was born about 1870. She married Robert Henry WAYLAND.

In 1993, received an inquiry from Larry Burns, Rt. 1, Box 143, Viola, Arkansas 72583 inquiring on this Foster line, and he gave Annie's parents' names. He said that Annie was a sister to his great grandfather, Robert Foster.
