Jonathan WAYLAND Rev. [Parents] was born in 1816. He died in 1885 and was buried in Wayland Springs, , Arkansas. Jonathan married Amy Ann EDDY in 1846.
Known as one of the most ablest and most noted Methodist preachers in that area, with a great reputation as a speaker. Established a home on a farm just a few miles south of Imboden at the place still known as Wayland Springs, now the site of a Methodist summer camp. Jonathan is found in the 1850 Lawrence Co. Ark. census, Springriver Township, page 236, as Jonathan Wayland, age 35, farmer, b. N.C. With him are Emma A., age 25, Francis M. age 3 (female), Elish age 1 (male), and Francis M. Eddy age 19 (female). Apparently, the latter is the sister of Ann, and the namesake of her daughter. The family is found in the 1860 census for same township as: Jonathon Wayland age 44, b. Kty, Ann age 35 b. Ind., Frances M. age 13 (male), Elisha age 12, and Mary age 8 months.
Amy Ann EDDY was born in 1825. She died in 1870 in Wayland Springs, , Arkansas and was buried in Wayland Springs. Amy married Jonathan WAYLAND Rev. in 1846.

Ark (as are all following), Card(?) age 12 male, Mary age 8, Thomas H. age 5, Louise age 3, Lucenda age 1. The latter may not have survived childhood as is not listed in the 1860 census.

She says that Sarah died in 1858/1859, probably early in that year. perhaps in childbirth.
