NOTE: A, p.105,106

On p.105 gives middle initial as "P" and on 106 as "F". He marries his own first cousin, as did his parents. Benjamin and M.V. were both first and second cousins, a dangerous amount of intermarriage.

Marian Victoria WAYLAND [Parents] was born in 1839 in Madison Co., VA. She married Benjamin F. WEAVER on 20 Dec 1866 in , Madison Co., Virginia.

NOTE: A, p.105

Not only did her father marry a first cousin, but she did also. The marriage record shows her as age 21 when she was more like age 27. The result of this double cousin marriage could have been bad on any children of this marriage, but nothing is known of them. A child of this marriage going back five generations normally would have (2+4+8+16+32=62) 62 ancestors. As a result of these intermarriages, they would have only 42 ancestors (2+4+6+10+20=42) for the gene pool, increasing the chances for bad genes.

Buried next to him (probably his wife):

Information copied from tombstones by Anna Dodson

The "6" may have looked like an "8" on the old tombstone, as he was born in 1846.

The National Archives has this on his service in the Civil War (parentheses comments are mine):

"4th Virginia Calvary
