Mrs. Madeline Swetnam says that she has 150 pages on this line, mostly on the Yates, which includes a Revolutionary War Patriot, Dr. Michael Yates and on back to England in 1640. The little town of Yates, MO was named after her great grandfather George Yates, who came to Randolph Co., MO in 1832. Yates is 15 miles SW of Moberly. She says that she has a wealth of information on the Yates line which was collected by a "Miss Annie Yates, who died in 1970's and was a first cousin to my father, George Williams". I don't have this woman listed in my records, but apparently was a spinster who lived to an old age.
