NOTE: Germanna Record No. 6, p. 92, which says, "Henry was granted 326 acres in the Robinson River section in 1750, and the Rental of 1764 shows Henry with this land and a Stephen Souther with 150 acres. The Southers intermarried with the 1717 families." Germanna Record No. 11, p. 84, says, "Henry's will is dated 2 Sep 1783 and was probated 17 May 1784 (Wulfeck 'Culpeper Co., VA Will Books B and C', p. 53) and mentions his sons Stephen, Michael, and Jacob Souther and his daughters Barbary Huffman and Catherine Canada."

I am a descendent of John Hoffman, the Immigrant through his son Jacob Sr.
and then Jacob, Jr. Jacob, Jr. married Mary Floyd on March 16, 1786 in
Culpeper. They were married by Rev. William Mason, a Baptist minister. I
have been able to find very little about Mary's family. I would appreciate
any information on this family. I have volumes on the Hoffman/Huffmans but
nothing on the Floyd line.

NOTE: A, p.84 Barbara's surname recently found in the Errata of Germanna Record No. 3. Melvin Miller of Stanley VA who has been tracing the ancestry of the original members of the St Paul Luth Church, Grove Hill, Page Co VA, had previously given her surname as HUFFMAN.
Re Melvin Miller: In 1996, he printed a genealogy on Johannes HOFFMAN with emphasis on his grandson, Daniel (s/o George) & wife Margaret Catherine BUNGER, who settled in Shenandoah, now Page Co VA. In 1997 he printed a genealogy on the descendants of Christian HUFFMAN & his wf, Christena GOCHENOUR of Shenandoah, now Page, Co VA.
