NOTE: B, p.85. Named after Nellie Wayland and Virginia Wayland, maiden sisters who were related. Adam's sons, Albert (b. 1806) and Edwin (b.1808), are the connection. Albert's son, Edward Jenkins Wayland (b. 1849) was considerably younger than Edwin's son, William Adam Wayland (b. 1832).
Edward's last child, Nell Virginia, was born in 1899 when Edward was 50
years old. He must have been close to the maiden daughters of William, his first cousin, who were Virginia (b. 1868) and Nellie (b. 1871).

Horace WAYLAND [Parents] was born about 1850 in Culpeper, , Virginia.

NOTE: B, p.85,86. Dr. J.W. Wayland's notes make mention of a picture and story he found in the Culpeper, Va., "Star-Exponent" of September 11, 1958.
It showed six Wayland brothers and gives their ages (from which I deduced
their birth dates) and says that their father was Horace Wayland. It also mentioned two other deceased brothers and a deceased sister without birth dates, so these are just a guess. Horace's wife is not known, nor his connection with the other Waylands.

I wonder if the below could be him?

His grave and his wife' grave are found at Bethel Baptist Church Graveyard, location: 8 miles west of Culpeper, Virginia on Route #29: thence north .3 mile on Route #609 on west side of road.
