George YATES [Parents] was born on 17 Dec 1804 in , Caroline Co., Virginia. He died on 20 Mar 1874 in , Randolph Co., Missouri. George married Martha Juliet CRENSHAW on 27 Jan 1835 in , Scott Co., Kentucky.

First cousin to Richard Yates, Civil War Governor from Ilinois and also to Wiley Hunt, first Governor of Arizona. In another letter, source gives DOD as 29 March 1874. The Keytesville Herald stated on 11 April, 1874, that "George Yates died a few days ago." Also, the THH newspaper reported:
"Yates, George -- died 27 Mar 1874, aged 72y, near Roanoke of chronic bronchitis; THH 2 Apr 1874." George was the 10th child of John and Nancy. George came to MO about 1834-35 and settled near the present town of Yates, Mo, which is named after him. The following in "The Huntsville Herald" may or may not refer to him (there is another George Yates in the database):

Yates, George -- dec'd, Final Settlement of estate on 9 Feb 1880, Joel H. & T.B. Yates, Adm'r's; THH 8 Jan 1880

William ADAMS was born on 1 Jan 1818 in , , Kentucky. He died on 23 Jul 1888 and was buried in Adams Cem., Kenton Co., KY. William married Lucy WAYLAND in , Kenton Co., Kentucky.

As per Vicki Maddox.
Received list of all children from Philip Naff [email protected] in 3/99.

Lucy WAYLAND [Parents] was born on 7 Jul 1824 in , , Kentucky. She died on 13 Jan 1881 and was buried in Adams Cem., Kenton Co., Kentucky. Lucy married William ADAMS in , Kenton Co., Kentucky.

Lucy and family are found in the 1850 Kenton Co. Kty census according to Vicki Maddox, who gives the listing as: William Adams age 31 farmer; Lucy Adams age 37; John Adams age 9; Alfred Adams age 8; Louisa Adams age 4; Elizabeth Adams age 1, all born in Kentucky. Also living with them are her half-brother George Wayland and his wife Nancy, both age 21. This is odd as by her year of birth that I have, she would have only have been age 26 or 27...perhaps should be 27 and misread.

I later received something indicating that this couple had 10 children and they are buried in the Adams Cemetary (Visalia-Staffordsburg Rd.), Kenton Co. KY.
