Moved to Sumner Co., near Hendersonville, about 15 miles from Nashville in 1850, buying about 900 acres of bluegrass land lying along the Cumberland River, paying over $5000 for the land. It was evaluated at $15,000 in 1870, and presently (Ellsberry 1972) is a subdivision along Old Hickory Lake. He ran a dairy with wagons daily into Nashville and also floated his hay harvest down the river each to New Orleans. Since none of his sons married, his line ended. I had him under Henry Terrill and Susan Phillips, but took him out after receiving more information on Henry's family with another Henry there and he didn't fit.
