Elizabeth Relfe ROBINSON married Richard TERRILL/Washington Co., MO in 1848. Believe they were in Calaveras Co. CA by ca 1853, in NV (or maybe Inyo Co?) ca 1866, back in CA (LA county) 1870 to 1880. Family members next show in the census of 1900/Merced Co. CA until at least 1920.Believe they had the following children:

At least two of their sons stayed in Merced Co. after 1910, as they show in the census of 1920 with families of their own: Richard TERRILL Jr. married Rose ca 1892/Merced? and Frank marreid Kate ca 1898/Merced?
Their daughter, Elizabeth TERRILL, I believe married Hiram J LENT/1874 in Independence, Inyo Co. CA (then fairly near Aurora NV) and I believe they show in 1880 census of Los Angeles Co., then they disappear until Hiram shows as a widower in census of 1900/Inyo Co. CA. No death record for Elizabeth either.
I am trying to find a death or burial or obit record for the parents, Elizabeth and Richard TERRILL, in order to verify that their daughter Elizabeth was Elizabeth who married LENT.
Does anyone know this family from Washington County???? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!"

Yes, I did note that there was that other census entry for Richard and Isabelle and dau, Mary J. in Washington Co., MO. Although I don't have my file in front of me right now, I do remember that I finally decided that
that Richard and Isabelle and the Richard and Elizabeth Relfe ROBINSON TERRILL also with a daughter Mary J, were two different couples. I think it was because I found Richard and Isabelle in the 1870 census in St. Louis (I think) and my Richard and Elizabeth in 1870/Los Angeles CA census.I also did note the Richard TERRILLS you have posted on your site, but never contacted you as I felt my Richard was not the same as yours.
I do admit that it is strange that their ages are similar, names similar, and that both had a dau Mary J born the same year!!!"

Line down from a descendent, who did not know William's father. I have placed him under James, as we had no wife for the William known to be under James, but connection has not really been proven for this line to James. It is known that William married second to a widow by the last name of Farley (her married name); since her husband was killed in the Civil War and the two children listed for William were born after 1880, there is a good chance that this line comes from his second wife and not his first.
FARLEY was born about 1840. She married William TERRILL.
Farley was her married name; she was a widow who had lost her husband in the Civil War.
Hamilton TERRILL [Parents] was born on 13 May 1826 in , Orange Co., Virginia. He married Martha Ann TERRILL in 1846 in , Augusta Co., Virginia.
Was a farmer and store owner in Paydown...lived in Osage Co., Maries Co., and Shannon Co. in Missouri. Wife, Martha, was his first cousin, one generation removed. Family shown in 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 Maries Co. Censuses. Later moved to Shannon Co., where spent rest of lives. (Ellsberrry).
Martha Ann TERRILL [Parents] was born about 1828 in , Washington Co., Missouri. She married Hamilton TERRILL in 1846 in , Augusta Co., Virginia.

Reuben Richard TERRILL III [Parents] was born on 5 Nov 1830 in , St. Louis Co., Missouri. He died on 2 Dec 1910 and was buried in High Gate Cem., Maries Co., Missouri. Reuben married Frances "Fannie" LACY about 1852.
Was Maries County surveyor. Family history says that he moved with his father's family as a young lad to the vicinity of Grove Dale in what was then Osage Co., MO. He studied hard and was a school teacher for 7 years before becoming an expert surveyor. His surveying notes and instruments are still in the family. He married Fannie after he met her while she was visiting from VA with her father some relatives in MO. They made their home in eastern Maries Co., MO, where all of their children were born. They are shown there in the 1880 census, and probably others also.
Frances "Fannie" LACY was born in 1835. She died on 22 Aug 1920 and was buried in High Gate Cem., Maries Co., Missouri. Frances married Reuben Richard TERRILL III about 1852.

Bettie STOCKTON was born about 1840. She married John TERRILL.
No known children from this marriage. She is presumed to have died young. However, in June 1850, while he was enroute to California in a wagon train, he mentioned "his family" in a letter written to his brother Jackson. The letter was postmarked at Fort Kearney, Nebraska. After his return to MO in early 1870 he was married to Caroline, and it is assumed Bettie did not survive the trip.
