Ellsberry has a copy of a letter that this boy wrote to his older brother Reuben on July 4th, 1839, writing from Charlottesville, VA to Missouri. He chides Reuben on not writing their mother for 3 years, says Mrs. Wolf has a fine dtr. now about 4 weeks old. Mr. Bishop has 6 children, and names them, and Mrs. Quisenberry has one (named). He asks Reuben to loan him some money owed Reuben in VA. so that he can prepare himself to be a doctor, as it costs $50 for 10 months training.
