Raymond Griffin ROBERTS [Parents] was born on 4 Jan 1896. He died in Oct 1980 in Moberly, Randolph Co., Missouri. Raymond married Living on 7 Sep 1920.
I had a letter from Finley Roberts and wife Ruth who said that "Ray Roberts and his wife are doing poorly." Letter was written 23 March, 1980 and is probably referring to this Ray as he is Finley's first cousin. DOD is from SSDI.

Fountain is a surname in central Missouri and in early Virginia. I have some of my Terrill line with Fountain as a given name also. Doris Willman says that this man and Milton Roberts, who married his sister, were "stepbrothers." He fought for the Confederate Army.

I remember this man well. He and his wife were known as "Cousin Finley and Ruth" to my Dad, and we visited their farm whenever we made a trip to Missouri from N.C., when I was growing up. Finley was blind.
Wife Ruth says in her letter to JT Wayland on 23 March 1980, "They just called me from Boonville and said Dan Roberts now of Booneville passed on at 4:30 AM. He used to be with Temple Stephens and was a farmer and dairyman." I don't know how he is related. She further states that her husband Finley was doing well, but, "Ray Roberts and his wife poorly." I think that this is Finley's first cousin #2831. Return address on this letter from Ruth for her and Finley is: 621 Adams, Moberly, MO 65270.
