In Laurentus Miller family in Wilkes Co., NC on 1910 census, age 32, teacher in public school. She later married. Census says "Single, 30 weeks out of work in 1909" Schools were frequently closed for farm work for many weeks.

Laurentius Rotan MILLER [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 16 Feb 1852 in , Rowan Co., NC. He died in , Wilkes Co., NC. Laurentius married Rebecca E. HENDREN.

Mentioned on father Simeon's estate papers. On the 1910 Census, he is found in Wilkes Co., NC, gen. farmer, 311 acres, age 58, married 34 years. A photo of him and his wife is on my home page in the Miller Photo page...LRMiller.jpg

Rebecca E. HENDREN was born in Jul 1852 in , , NC. She died in , Wilkes Co., NC. Rebecca married Laurentius Rotan MILLER.

She is with Laurentius on the 1910 census, Rebecca E., age 57, "can read and write." See her photo under her husband.

		M	vi	Shirley E. MILLER was born in 1892 in , Wilkes Co., NC. He died on 15 Jan 1970. Was a male...the name Shirley originally was male. On 1910 census he is with parents, age 18. He was in a wheelchair as he was kicked by a horse when a child, which apparently damaged spine. He never married, but lived old age. Date of death is from SSDI.

1900 Census has him in Wilkes Co., Farmer and Laborer, and Confederate Veteran. Have photo of him. Had 8 children, 2 died as infants, buried in Rocky River Cem.

Flora Bell WELBORN [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 22 Feb 1856 in Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC. She died in 1942 in Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC. Flora married LaFayette Monroe PHARR on 29 Dec 1874.

On 1900 census, she is age 54, b. NC, as were both parents. See her photo when she is older, under her mother.

WENDEL MILLER b.abt.1729 raised his children in Rowan County. His son Frederick b.1756 m Margaret Braun da of Michal Braun. I believe his son James b 1791 is my line. He m Sarah Zink. He had a son Thomas b1831 which is the fa of my grandfather Silas Johnson Miller. If anyone has proof or other information for me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi John, We got most of our information from the book about Wendel, one of the authors was Geraldine Trexler Miller. I think the name was the life of Wendell Miller. It is out of print and copyrighted but I got permission from Geraldine to copy our line. It is a large green book. I found this book in the LDS library in Salt Lake City Utah. It is a great library to do research. One of the best in the world. The proof of the Rev. war was his Government dedication marker by the Daughters of the American Revolution. They called him a Revolutionary Soldier and Patriot. Wendel had 8 children by the Indian lady and 7 by his 2nd wife Christina, Also a child that was Christinas. The book also states that John J. born in 1766 the seventh child of Wendel Miller m Elizabeth Lentz the da of Dewalt Lentz. They were parents of 8 children who took as there wives and husbands members of the Fisher, Holshouser, Knup,Beaver,Josey and Brown families. Four of these children married Brown cousins or neighbors. Cousins were permitted to marry at that time. There is more info on him if you want me to send it. My line that I got from the book and I hope is correct is Wendel- Frederick- James-Thomas-Silas- Edward Earl- Fay(me). My sister and I have been researching different lines in the family. We were so excited when we found this book and it mentioned. We have absolute proof from Thomas on down. Tell your wife we are also light with blue eyes but have one brother with dark eyes and hair. Hi John, I have more on Wendel if you can get your hands on the book it is a great source. Geraldine Trexler Miller is only one of the authors. Here is a bit on Wendel. Miller was middle aged when the revolution began, He was no young hothead,radical, but saw liberty and freedom from the British Empire as a desirable thing for his countrymen. He was a Leutenent in Capt. Bergers Co in the NC Militia from 1776-1781. Wendel was one of the wealthiest men in Rowan Cty. One of his sons served under him in the Rev. war....Fay

I then discovered that my wife's sister has one of these huge hard-bound books on Wendel Miller. I copied what I have here from that book. JW

One site has his parents as Wendle Miller and Anna Maria Lingel, who lived and died in Germany. No dates or sources were given.

John Phillip MILLER [Parents] was born on 2 Nov 1759 in , Rowan Co., NC. He died on 25 Mar 1835 and was buried in Organ Luth Chur, Rowan Co., NC. John married Sybilla FISHER in 1786/1787.

Father of 13 children. Rev. War veteran.

Sybilla FISHER was born on 4 Mar 1768. She died on 30 Mar 1835. Sybilla married John Phillip MILLER in 1786/1787.

Dtr. of Martin and Maria Margaret Fisher of Rowan Co. She followed her husband in death 5 days later.
