See 1854 deed of her brother Austin that has her signature. Land is passed to Austin Fowler from Edward and Samuel Loper for $135 for 9 1/2 acres in Guilford. The justice of the peace who signs it is a Fowler also, but I can't make out first name (Annie?).

Austin FOWLER [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 22 Jan 1807 in North Guilford, , Conn.. He died on 9 Sep 1879 in North Guilford, , Conn.. Austin married Merab CHITTENDEN on 4 Feb 1830.
We have a wooden handled knife which a note says belonged to "Austin Fowler". This could be this Austin, or possibly his son.
I have a small book dated 1815, "Jack Daw at Home, British Nobility Burlesqued" with a note from Theron C. Fowler that this belonged to his grandfather, which would possibly be this Austin. Also, "Farm Yard Journal" dated 1817 in envelope. and "The History of the House that Jack Built", dated 1826.
I have a deed signed on the inside with the date of 2 Jun, 1835, but with an outside date of 6 March, 1841,from the register of deeds. Why there would be a 6 year delay to register is unknown. The only one that I know this could be was born in 1791 and is his fifth cousin, Simeon Chittenden III (#235). Also, Austin's wife Merab and this Simeon are 3rd cousins. (Austin is even fourth cousin to his wife Merab.)
But, no relation is required for this land sale, 34 acres for $362, from Simeon Chittenden to Austin Fowler (photo attached here).I have a deed signed in 1836 where this Austin and his brother Isaac buy some land from Chedsey that is adjacent to their father James's land. (#5 scanned). The Fowler report says that "He was a prosperous farmer of North Guilford."
I have a deed signed in 1854 by Austin and his siblings, Eunice Fowler and Annie Fowler, where he buys land from Edward and Samuel Loper. Photo here. I have other deeds for Austin and Isaac and I assume that the latter is his brother, and have put them as photos under Isaac.
See the deed under Edward and Samuel Loper where they sell him some property in 1854. They were his 4th cousins, but may not have known that.
Merab CHITTENDEN [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 29 Jun 1805. She died on 19 Aug 1890 in North Guilford, , Conn. Merab married Austin FOWLER on 4 Feb 1830.
Grandfather was Jared Chittenden, Rev. War veteran. I have her photo. Her dob is 29 June in older Talcott book, and 29 January in later Talcott book.

Ruth Ann FOWLER [Parents] "Anna, Annie" was born on 5 Sep 1808 in North Guilford, , Conn.. She died on 14 May 1844 in North Guilford, , Conn.. Anna, Annie married Russell SCRANTON.
Called Anna. I had her year of birth a year different, but Fowler report has this. The 1854 deed under her brother Austin calls her "Annie". It is signed by a male jp called "Amni." She died early and left at least one child, John, as an orphan, and her brother took over his responsibility.

In the doc #15 letter I have, written Oct. 4, 1868, by Simion Chittenden to Charles Austin Fowler, Charles is asked by Simeon "How is Charlie Scranton?" This Charles Scranton and Charles Fowler are first cousins. I also have my doc #30 which may be about him. It says that "Charles F. Swanton (or Scranton), residing in Guilford at age 2, having no father, guardian, or master," has Austin Fowler (his uncle) appointed his guardian the 4th day of December, 1844. His middle initial is "W" in old photo album, written down by Theron and the picture is 163.jpg. Another picture of him is 163a.jpg.
Isaac FOWLER [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 9 Mar 1811 in North Guilford, , Conn.. He died on 4 Nov 1871 in North Guilford, CT. Isaac married Harriet CHITTENDEN on 25 Dec 1833.

Asa FOWLER [Parents] was born on 6 Jun 1812 in North Guilford, , Conn.. He died on 3 May 1883. Asa married Laura CAMP.
Fowler report says that he was a North Guilford farmer. Talcott says that his wife was from Durham and he lived in Durham after marriage.
Laura CAMP was born about 1813. She married Asa FOWLER.

gives his name as George Hickox. Fowler report confirms his name as Charles and says that he was a shoemaker of Durham were both died and were buried.
