The Anges Dickinson Lee Chapter D.A.R. held a grave marking ceremony at the North Guilford Cemetery, North Guilford, Conn. on 6 November 1989. They honored Thomas Fowler, a Revolutionary soldier, who died in North Guilford 2 Dec 1776. Thomas Fowler was born in 1752 and served in the N. Guilford militia. In the year 1775 when the news of the Battle of Lexington came, he was part of said company who was ordered to march for Lexington. The proceeded as far as Pomfret, Conn., where they received information that the engagement was over, and the Company was ordered back to Guilford, where they were dismissed having been in service seven days. He married 12 October 1774 Beulah Bishop. Twins Beulah and Thomas were born 29 June 1777 after his death.
Thomas FOWLER and Beulah BISHOP had the following children:
i. Thomas FOWLER.
ii. Beulah FOWLER. Beulah died 14 Aug 1834. She married Benjamin HALL
His twin children were born after his death. Appropriately, his wife Beulah named the twins Thomas and Beulah.

"Cherished among the heirlooms of the Fowler family is the musket that their ancestor, Caleb Fowler, captured from the British at Monmouth. The grave of this soldier is located in the Burton Cemetery. Caleb Fowler was born at Guilford, Conn., Dec. 31, 1775. He was a private in the Connecticut Continentals. He was married twice, to Mollie Chittenden and Olive Miegs. His children were: Mollie, Clarinda, Rhoda, Desire, and Phebe. The Fowlers moved to Burton in October 1812."
It goes on to say that Caleb enlisted in the service of the United States on or about June 1, 1777 in Connecticut. He was in a company commanded by Capt. Elijah Humphrey of the 6th Connecticut Regiment commanded by Col. Meigs. He stayed in service until about Nov. 27, 1780 when he was discharged for service in New Jersey. He was in a battle at King's Ferry the day before Fort Montgomery was taken by the British. He was also in an engagement at Elizabethtown.
Molly CHITTENDEN [Parents] was born on 28 Mar 1760. She died on 14 Jan 1787 in Burton, , Ohio. Molly married Caleb FOWLER on 15 Sep 1778.
