Lillian May Tinius, 80, died Oct 15, 1993. Mrs Tinius heldmembership in Puyalip First Assembly of god Church.
Survivors include son William A Tinius Jr, brother George Vaars, fourgrandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Charles August Tinius [Parents] was born 27 Jan 1834 in Graebendorf Kreis Lelton, Providence Brandenburg, Prussia. He died 25 May 1905 in Mt Joseph, Breckinridge Co, Kentucky. He married Caroline Behrick 9 Jan 1860 in Holt, Breckinridge County, Ky. Charles was counted in a census 1 1880 in Cloverport, District #2, Breckinridge, Co, Ky.


Obituary of Charles August Tinius
Charles and Caroline were both born in Berlin, Germany (Family recordshave him born in Graebendorf Kreis Lelton, Prussia)

Charles came to America in 1855. In 1859 he moved to holt, Ky and settled on a farm about 5 miles west of the city. For nearly half a century he engaged in farming and Viniculture, his vineyards were said to be the largest in Breckenridge County. A quotation from his obituary "his live was one of industry and honesty and the business, which he built up,was the result of his own efforts."
Charles and Caroline joined the Babtist Church at Holt in 1873.

He died at 2:30 AM on thursday morning in 1905 and his funeral was held Friday afternoon in the family residence with Rev J.T. Lewis of Irvinton officiating. Interment was at the family graveyard at Mt Joeseph.

Death was due principally to the infirmities of old age. His health had been failing for several years. About 15 months before his death he lost his eyesight but he believed until death that it would return.

They were both well thought of in the county and in Charles Obituary.The Breckenridge News wrote" Mr Tinius was a subscriber to the paper for thirty years. He always paid his subscription in advance on the first of January in each year. By the death of Mr Tinius this county lost one ofits oldest German citizens. Ulrich Farber and B Bohler being those remaining. The mews of his death was received with regrets by old friendshere, at Cannelton, Tell City and other points."

Caroline Tinius died of Pneumonia at the home of her daughter, MrsGeorge Unser in Owensboro, Ky on April 12, 1906. The funeral was held in Holt with J.T. Lewis Pastor of the local Baptist Church officiating. Shewas buried in the Family graveyard.

Caroline Behrick [Parents] was born 1842 in Brandengurg, Prussia. She married Charles August Tinius 9 Jan 1860 in Holt, Breckinridge County, Ky. Caroline was counted in a census 1880 in Cloverport, District #2, Breckinridge, Co, Ky.

HISTORY OF ATCHISON COUNTY
John Purdum Farmer, section 9, is a native of Atchison County, Missouri,and was born May 29, 1847. His father, Jeremiah Purdum is one of AtchisonCounty's oldest and most respected citizens. John's boyhood days werespent on his father's farm, and he has made it his life vocation. He ownsa farm of 120 acres. He has been twice married, first in 1874 to MissSusan Barlow: she died in 1877. His second marriage occurred in March1878 to miss Sophia Moore a native of Pike County, Illinois. They havetwo children; Freddie and Geneva. Mr P. is an excellent agriculturist andconducts a good farm.

Susan Barlow died 1877. She married John Purdum.
