Abraham Jr was a Probate Judge in Virginia. In later life he went to live with his daughter Mary where he died.

Elizabeth Fanceler was born 1803 in Virginia. She married Abraham Jr Sherfey Abt 1823 in Virginia.

On the ages of the children there were no records kept and when DrBuckham gave his statement, in 1884, to the Pension Board his age was inthe late 70's and to some say he acted quit childish so the dates willalways be a mystery.

George Washington Barlow was in Co C 5th Regiment, Missouri StateMilitia. According to statements made by many family members and DrBuckham Washington came home on a furlough and died from a deceasecontracted in the military. Four months prior to him dying he marriedElizabeth Sherfey, sister to Mary Jane Sherfey Barlow who was married tohis brother.

According to his records George enlisted, at age 40, in Cpt Rickard's Co,Mo State Militia on Mar 13, 1862 at Rockport Mo during the Civil War.Company muster roll for Mar 22 to Apr 30, 1862 has George in Co C, 9thBatt'n Mo. State Mil Cav which subsequently became Co C 5th Regt Mo StateMilitia Cavalry (1st Organization).

Elizebeth Wolf was born 1828 in Tenessee. She died 8 Oct 1861 in Atchinson County, Missouri. She married George Washington Barlow 12 Nov 1849 in Atchinson County, Missouri. Elizebeth died 8 Oct 1861 in Verified by her physician Dr Richard Buckham.

Statement made by Mary Jane Sherfey Barlow mentioned a boy being born 2years after Jeremiah and he didn't have a name but they just called himBuddy.

Judge Purdum has served four years as county assessor and nine years aspublic administrator. From Jan 1 1873 till Jan 1 1877 he was judge of theprobate court, discharging his various duties very creditably.

Abraham Sr Sherfey [Parents] was born 1, 2 9 Mar 1765 in Fredrick, Co Maryland. He died 1, 2 1812 in Shenandoah Co, Virginia. He married Anna Glick 1785.

The following is copied from Tennesse Sherfy Leighten's copy of the Sherfey record given May Frost by William Emory Sherfey.
"Abraham Sherfey made his will made May 28, 1812, which stated that he was the son of Casper and Magdalena Sherfig. His wife's name was Anna and one of the witnesses to the will was Joseph Gary, a brother in law and from the state of Tennesse. This will provided that the children under age shall be bound out by elders or ministers of our Baptist Church; the executors of this will were John Kagy and Jacob Garber. This will was probared in Shenendoah County, Va, on October 12, 1812; thus indicating that he died in the year the will was made and also it appears from the records that in the settlement of the estate of Abraham that John Kooze was appointed guardian for the three minor heirs, Soloman Martin, and Samuel D., and that they were paid their proportion of the estate in the final settlement thereof."
