This is the line from Hans Adam Hieter that I descend from. I have
some information on the other families in this file and will be glad to
share anything I have with others who are interested in this family. Feel
free to let me know of any corrections or additions to this family. (Do remember that this name has been found as Hieter, Huter, Hueter, Heeter, Heater and probably others.) I have
placed some of my sources at the end

1. Johann Hieter was born about 1685 in
Germany, possibly Bavaria. He is said to have died about 1760 in Berks County, PA. His wife
is unknown. He had seven sons: (These have not been confirmed)
2. Hans Adam Hieter was born 1730 in the Palatinate, Germany. He is found listed among the passengers on "St. Andrew Galley" arriving in Philadelphia and .took his oath on 14 Sep 1751. George (Jerg) Peter Huter , his brother is also found on this passenger list. Adam was married about 1759 to Elizabeth Milot. She was the daughter of Nicholas Milot and Otilia Reinhard. Elizabeth was born about 1737, probably in Germany and died 9 November 1810 in Berks County, PA.
Adam served during the Revolutionary War in Sebastian
Lintz's 3rd Co., 1st Battalion, Berks County Militia. He was commissioned
as a 2nd Lieutenant on May 17, 1777. He was a tailor and a farmer.
He died in 1805 in Earl Township, Berks County, PA. His will was dated
28 December 1805 and probated 5 April 1806.
Children of Adam and Elizabeth (Milot) Hueter:
3. Benjamin H. Hueter/Heeter was born 20
September 1762 in Exeter Township, Berks County, PA. He was married 1 July
1787 to Maria Magdalena Menninger/Menchinger. She was the daughter
of Jost Menninger and Rosina Frederick. Maria died at age
22 and Benjamin was married again on 15 November 1791 to Eva Stofflet
at the Schwartzwald Reformed Church, Exeter Township, Berks County, PA.
He died about October 1830 in Berks County
Children of Benjamin and Maria Magdelina (Menninger) Hueter:
4. Jacob Heeter was born 11 November 1790
in Oley Township, Berks County, PA. He served in the War of 1812 in Capt.
Jonathan Jones's Co. 1st Regiment, PA Militia, Berks Co. He was married 3 July 1814 to Elizabeth
S. Guldin. She was the daughter of Daniel G. Guldin and Anna
Margaretha Spang. Jacob moved to Clarion County, PA in the early 1830's.
He died there in Richland Township on 12 October 1863.
Children of Jacob and Elizabeth (Guldin) Heeter:
5. Mary Ann Heeter was born 5 March 1832 in Richland Township,
Clarion County, PA. She was married about 1850 to William Shoup.
Mary Ann died 17 April 1917 in Richland Township. ( See the Shoup page for their children).
