Biography:

Col Paul David ADAMS USMC

Colonel Adams attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps from the USC Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Following completion of The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia in December 1977, then Lieutenant Adams reported to the Marine Corps Service Support School, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for instruction as a Motor Transport Officer. Upon completion he reported to Truck Company, First Division Support Group, First Marine Division for duty as a Platoon Commander. In September 1978 he was assigned to Third Battalion, Eleventh Marines as the Battalion Motor Transport Officer and was promoted to First Lieutenant in February 1979.

In August 1980 then Lieutenant Adams was ordered to report to the Third Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan where he was assigned as the Battalion Motor Transport Officer.

He returned to the United States in August 1981 and was assigned to the First Force Service Support Group serving as the Battalion Motor Transport Officer for First Supply Battalion, and as the Assistant G-3, First Force Service Support. He was promoted to Captain in September 1983.

In September 1983 then Captain Adams was assigned to Beach and Port Company, First Landing Support Battalion serving as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer. In February 1984 he attended Airborne School at Ft. Benning, Georgia graduating with parachutist wings.

During the period August 1985 through August 1986 Captain Adams attended the Amphibious Warfare School, Quantico, Virginia. Upon graduation he was transferred to the Second Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty initially serving as the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer, Truck Company, Headquarters Battalion. In July 1987 he was reassigned to the Eighth Marine Regiment as the Regimental Motor Transport Officer. In May 1989 Captain Adams was promoted to the grade of Major.

June 1989 Major Adams reported to Naval Weapons Station Concord, California and assumed command of Marine Corps Security Force Company on July 1989. During Major Adams' tenure at Naval Weapons Station Concord he attended the Naval War College non-resident course, graduating with a diploma from the College of Naval Command and Staff.

In 1992 Major Adams was reassigned to the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, Virginia as a student. Upon graduation in 1993 he was assigned to the Third Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan for duty. He initially served as the Executive Officer, Third Maintenance Battalion, followed by Executive Officer, 3d Force Service Support Group - Forward for Operation Freedom Banner 1994. Upon completion of the exercise Major Adams was reassigned as the Logistic Movement Coordination Center Officer-in Charge, G-3, 3d Force Service Support Group. On October 1994 Major Adams was promoted to the grade of Lieutenant Colonel.

In July 1995 Lieutenant Colonel Adams assumed the duties as Inspector-Instructor, 6th Motor Transport Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Marine Forces Reserve. This unit is composed of four companies and one platoon located in four states: Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Texas.

From July 1997 to July 1999 Lieutenant Colonel Adams was assigned to a joint duty billet at the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Scott Air Force Base, IL, serving as Team Chief, East Mobility Team, Mobility Control Center, Joint Operations Division and Chief, Senior Duty Officer Section, Mobility Control Center, Joint Operations Division. During his tour at USTRANSCOM he graduated from the United States Air Force Air War College, nonresident seminar course. In November of 1999 Lieutenant Colonel Adams was promoted to his present grade of Colonel.

Colonel Adams is an academic year 2000 graduate of the United States Army War College Carlisle Barracks, PA. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Aviation Safety from Central Missouri State University.

In 2001, Col Adams was attached to Combat Service Support Group 3, in Hawaii.

Colonel Adams' personal decorations and medals include the Joint Meritorious Service Award, Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of third award, Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Marine Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
