1. Frederick E. Nichols was born in Virginia, and died July 1824 in Fayette Co,
Kentucky. He married
Elizabeth Thomas abt. 1774 in Virginia. She was born in Loudoun Co, VA, and died 28 Dec
1856 in Clark Co,
KY.

2. Frederick B. Nichols (Frederick E. 1) was born in VA 1787 in VA, and died aft April
1850 in Winchester,
Clark Co, KY. He married Mary Hudson 03 Mar 1807 in Fayette Co, KY, daughter of Reuben
Hudson and Nancy Mitcham. She was born abt 1790 in Virginia, and died aft 1870 in Mercer
Co, KY.

Probated July 1824 In the name of God. Amen.
I Frederick Nichols of the County of Fayette and State Kentucky
being of sound
mind and memory and calling to mind the certainity of death and the uncertainity of life,
do make, constitute,
publish & ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following, to
wit: In premise -- I lend
to my beloved wife Elizabeth Nichols for and during her natural life the use &
occupancy of the plantation
together with the meadows on the creek.
Item. Igive and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth, the following negroes, to wit:
Rachel, Molly,
Lucinda, Delila, and Theodoreek, also three horses four cows and calves, ten sheep and ten
hogs, all of
which is to be of her choice out of my stock. Also one equal half of all the crop that
shall be in the field or
gathered in, as also one half of the contents of my meat house, together with all my
household and kitchen
furniture. Also my waggon and geer together with all my farming utensils. Also three
hundred and fifty
silver dollars --all that is herein bequeathed to my beloved wife Elizabeth is to be her
own absolute property,
and at her death to be entirely at her disposal by will or otherwise.
Item -- I give and bequeath to my son James Nichols, at the death of my wife, the tract of
land whereon I now
live with all its appurtenances to him and his heirs forever.
Item -- I give and bequeath to my grandson Thomas Cockrill fifty dollars to be paid him by
my Executor when
he shall arrive at the age of Eighteen years --
Item, It is my further will and desire that all the property I may be possessed of that is
not herein otherwise
disposed of shall be sold to the highest bidder on a credit of twelve months and after my
just debts & funeral
expenses is paid to be equally divided among my eight children viz. George Nichols,
William Nichols, Robert
Nichols, Frederick B. Nichols, James Nichols, Frances WHALEY, Catherine Chiles and
Elizabeth Reed -- and
lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son George Nichols and Elizabeth my wife
Executor & Excutrix
of this my last will & testament -- hereby revocking all others by me before made. In
Testimony hwereof I
have hereunto set my hand & seal & published it as the same this fourth day of
November one thousand
eight hundred & sixteen.
