~ ELIAS TRUAX was born 1835 in New York. He married MARY K. MCDERMOTT 1856 in Franklin Co., NY, daughter of FRANCIS and NANCY MCDERMOTT. She was born in Michigan. Children of ELIAS TRUAX and MARY MCDERMOTT are: 1) MARY ANN TRUAX, b. 1 October 1858, Michigan; d. 1937, Joplin, MO; m. ROBERT HOUSTON HARSTON; 2) PETER TRUAX, b. August 1859; 3) ELLEN AGNES TRUAX, b. 1861, Michigan; m. JOHN NEWTON JONES; 4) FRANK TRUAX, b. March 1861; 5) JAMES TRUAX, b. 1863, Michigan; 6) WILLIE TRUAX, b. June 1869; d. September 1879.

~ GEORGE TRUAX was born 14 February 1857 in Rome, NY, and died 29 February 1936 in Knowlton, Marathon Co., WI. He married ADDIE BELL 2 April 1881 in Knowlton, Marathon Co., WI. (see gravestones below)

~ GEORGE A. TRUAX was born 21 March 1828 in St. Lawrence Co., NY, and died in Seattle, WA. Lived in Wisconsin to 1865; Iowa, 1873-79; Colorado, 1879-89. Corp. Co. D., Ind. Wis. Cav. in the Civil War. He married (1) BETSY WALKUP. She was born in Mass.. He married (2) LAURA M. (GREEN?) BRIMMER. Child of GEORGE TRUAX and BETSY WALKUP is HELEN CLARICE TRUAX, b. 26 September 1855, Racine Co., WI. George had a brother named Daniel R. Truax, b. abt. 1834.

~ GEORGE TRUAX was born Abt. 1778 in Albany, NY. He married (1) ANNE MAGEE Bef. 1801. He married (2) MARY MINORGAN Bet. 1821 - 1828. Settled near Cornwall, Ontario as early as 1801. Children were detailed in last issue - still looking for help in placing this family.

These photographs were taken at the Knowlton Cemetery near Mosinee in Marathon Co., Wisconsin by Terry Moore. I've identified the first as George Truax and Addie Bell, as described in the above query, but the other two are a mystery. Any help in identifying these people and their relationship to each other and the rest of the family would be appreciated.
