The Lipe Family

Abraham LIPE was born 2 Jan 1799 in North Carolina and died 29 Nov 1887 in Iredell Co, NC..  He married Mary Tabitha CASTER.  Mary Tabitha CASTER was born 13 Sep 1807 and died 19 May 1880 in Iredell Co, NC.  They lived near the border of Iredell County and Alexander Counties of North Carolina.

Their children:

A. Esther J. born ca 1831

B. Cornelius born ca 1832

C. Sally (Sarah) born ca1833 (my ggggrandmother)

    married Calvin I. LOOPER

D. Harriet born ca 1836

E. Ellen born ca 1840

F. Elias Stewart born ca 1843

    married Martha E. BROWN

Abraham and Mary LIPE are buried in Iredell Co, NC.

 

Sally (Sarah) Lipe married Calvin I. LOOPER ca 1856.

They lived in Fulton Co, Arkansas in 1860.

Their children:

A. John Calvin born 13 Apr 1857 in NC.

B. Granville Riley born 1862.

Sally died shortly after Granville Riley was born.  Her burial place or date of death is unknown.  Calvin took the children to live with Abraham and Mary LIPE in Iredell Co, NC and they raised them. 

 

I do not have much information on the LIPE family but would love to exchange information with anyone researching this branch of the family.  I do have photos of Abraham and Mary LIPE's graves.  The LIPE surname developed from the name LEIB.
