Joseph M. Ross was born on May 24, 1846 in Nabbs, Clark County, Indiana. He was the second born child of a James Ross and Mary. Joseph had at least nine siblings. Moses (1842); Susan (1847); Daniel L. (1848); Sarah (1850); Newton (1853); Clarinda (1854); Elizabeth H. (1855); Harriet A. (1859); and James (1862). His occupations were a lumberman, a farmer, a farmhand, a cooper and a candy grocer. He ran a candy store on Ingalls Street in Riverside, Cincinnati, Ohio. When he died he was a retired grocer. Joseph married a Anna B. Stacey about 1870. Anna was born on July 4, 1856 in Arkansas. Her parents are unknown but a census indicated that her father was born in Germany and her mother was born in Mississippi. Joseph and Anna were the parents of six children. -- Daniel L. was born on November 3, 1872 in Nabbs, Indiana. He married a Pearl May Dexter living in the Sedamsville, Cincinnati, Ohio area and were the parents of six children. -- Ada F. was born about 1873 in Nabbs, Indiana. She married on two occassions. First to a Earl Walker living in Nabbs, Indiana and were the parents of one child. Her second marriage was to a Frank Robinett living most of their lives in Anderson, Indiana and they did not have any children. -- Andrew Birt was born February 1876 in Nabbs, Indiana. He married a Carrie Coles living their entire life together in Nabbs, Indiana and were the parents of four children. -- Clara B. was born February 1879 in Nabbs, Indiana. She was married in two occassions. First to a Charles Mappin living a couple of years in Nabbs, Indiana and then living in Sedamsville and were the parents of three children. Her second marriage was to a John Gavin living in Cleveland, Ohio and they did not have any children. -- Estella Mae "Stella" was born on October 2, 1882 in Nabbs, Indiana. She married a Edward Charles Kruse living in Sedamsville and Riverside areas and were the parents of six children. -- Oscar M. was born on March 15, 1889 in Nabbs, Indiana. He married on two occassions. First to a Katherine Elizabeth Busch living in Sedamsville and were the parents of four children. His second marriage was to a Phyllis living in Green township and they did not have any children. Joseph and Anna lived in Nabbs, Indiana for about twenty years together. They moved about a 125 miles to Sedamsville, Cincinnati, Ohio about the year 1898. In later years Joseph lived at Lower River Road, Stop 3, in the Riverside area. Joseph died on February 8, 1922 at the age of 75 years, 8 months. Influenza was his cause of death. He is buried next to wife Anna in Wesleyan cemetery in Northside, Cincinnati, Ohio. Anna died on October 24, 1914 at the age of 58 years, 3 months, 20 days. She was buried in Wesleyan cemetery in Northside, Cincinnati, Ohio
