Frank Family History & Information
The Frank family originally came from Weil, Schonbuch, South of Stuttgart, Providence of Wurtemburg, Germany. Johan "John" Michael Frank was born on October 31, 1830 in Weil, Germany. His parents were Johannas Frank and Phyllis Dorothea Laib. John worked as a farmer and as a cooper in Germany. In America he worked as a cooper. John married a Margareth "Maggie" Koenig on March 25, 1863 in Germany. They were the parents of six children. -- Margaret "Maggie" who was born on April 11, 1860 in Germany. She was married on two occassions. Her first marriage was to a Heinrich "Henry" Kruse living in Sedamsville, Cincinnati, Ohio, they were the parents of at least seven children and one stepchild. Second marriage was to a Joseph H. Klanke living in the Sedamsville area and did not have any children. -- Charles J. who was born on November 28, 1862 in Germany. He married a Caroline Linkensdorfer living in the Sedamsville area and were the parents of six children -- William who was born in the year 1870 in Ohio. He lived most of his life in Texas. It is believed that he served in the military or more accurately the cavalry. -- John Jacob who was born August 31, 1873 in Sedamsville. He married a Mollie Eaglen living in Sedamsville and later in Cumminsville, Cincinnati, Ohio and were the parents of one child. -- Frederick "Fred" George who was born on February 18, 1878 in Sedamsville. He married a Anna living in Riverside, Cincinnati, Ohio and in later years in Mt. Healthy, Cincinnati, Ohio and were the parents of two children. -- Their sixth child was born before 1870 and died before 1873. The Frank family immigrated to America between 1863 and 1866. Where they originally settled in America is unknown. They were in Ohio by 1870 and in the Sedamsville area by 1873. John and Margaret lived most of their lives together in America at 79 Delhi Pike, Sedamsville. Sometime after John passed away in 1892, Margaret moved to a 625 Sedam Street, and in later years living with her son Charles and his family at 781 Sedam Street, Sedamsville until her death. The Frank family were members of St. Martini Church of Christ (German Lutheran) in Sedamsville. John died on November 7, 1892 at the age of 62 years, and 7 days. A accidental railroad injury was the cause of death. The funeral and burial services were handled by a Habig Funeral Home. He was buried on November 9, 1892 in Walnut Hills Cemetery. Margaret died on June 7, 1913 at the age of 81 years, 4 months, 9 days. Apoplexy (a three year duration) and senility were the causes of death. The funeral and burial services were handled by Vitt & Stermer Funeral Home. She was buried next to her husband John in Walnut Hills cemetery. They are both buried in their son-in-law's (Henry Kruse) burial lot.
