LADY JULIA died about 1550, Dunboy Castle, Munster, Ireland, buried about 1550, Ireland. DERMOD O'SULLIVAN, The Powdered, was the 11th Lord of Beare and Bantry, of Dunboy Castle. (DONNELL MOR, 8th Lord in descent from the first who assumed the name O'SULLIVAN, and lineal descendant of EOGAN MORE, was the 25th in descent from OLIOLL OLUM, the 237th Monarch of Munster, Ireland, through his son, OWEN. DONNELL MOR'S great-grandson, AURA-NY-LACKEN, Lord of Desmond, was the 1st Lord of Beare and Bantry in Munster and direct ancestor of DERMOD the 11th Lord.

SIR OWEN O'SULLIVAN (or EOGHAN) sat in Parliament in 1585. ELLEN MacCARTHY-REAGH was the daughter of CORMAC na hory MacCARTHY REAGH.

OWEN O'SULLIVAN was flourishing in 1612 (Carew's Pacata Hiberna page 293. He had a regrant of DUNBOY CASTLE Anno 9 James 1.)

OWEN-DONEL O'SULLIVAN joined the Rebellion of 1641, was attained (condemnded), and fled the country. His family scattered among relatives and friends, and some came to america. He married JO-ANN ELIZABETH, who was the granddaughter of JOHN BROWN.

JOHN O'SULLIVAN came to America October 24, 1655 (Patent Book 3, p. 392, Land Office, Richmond, Virginia). He came as a minor with his mother, ELIZABETH O'SULLIVAN. He appears in "a List of Lower Norfolk People" in 1673 as 36 years old (Clerk's Office, Norfolk, Virginia; William & Mary Quarterly, Vol. 26). In the early Virginia records the name is variously spelled: USEHULLEVAN, USULIMAN, O'SWELLIVANT, O'SULLIVAN, SULLIVAN. Named JOHN THOMAS for two maternal ancestors. JOHN O'SULLIVAN's will is recorded in Princess Anne Co., Virginia, Lynhaven Parish, dated May 12, 1698, proved Sep 7, 1698, Book 1, page 194; see also State Library, Richmond, Virginia. Lands owned by him are mentioned in the will of Matthew Brinson June 12, 1681 (Jour. Irish-American Society 25/103.).

OWEN died about Feb 6, 1769, Charlotte/Lunenburg Co., Virginia, buried about Feb 6, 1769, Charlotte Lunenberg Co., Virginia. OWEN O'SULLIVAN I was granted 240 acres Nov. 7, 1700 at Dam Neck, near OWEN HAYES at Fish Pond (Princess Anne Co., Virginia, Bk 4 folk 126). Also granted 862 acres Sep 10, 1755. The tithable List of William Caldwell, taken 1749 for Lunenburg, shows OWEN SULLIVAN (William & Mary Quarterly, 11/57). OWEN'S will dated Oct 12, 1768, proved Feb 6, 1769 in Charlotte Co. (This county split from Lunenburg in 1764.)

OWEN II is named in his father's will. By deed Oct 1, 1781, OWEN SULLIVAN conveys to Chas. Crenshaw 151 acres "including the late dwelling house of the late OWEN SULLIVAN deceased, devised to said OWEN SULLIVAN by Will of OWEN SULLIVAN deceased (Charlotte Co., Virginia D Bk 3, p. 571). There are records of other sales from OWEN SULLIVAN to James Mullins, Stephen Farmer, etc. A HISTORY OF THE SULLIVAN FAMILY was compiled 1882 and published by William D. Sullivan 1913. In it he states OWEN & MARGARET had 5 children to move from Virginia to S. Carolina. MARY FEARNE was the daughter of JOHN FEARNE and MARY LEE.

On the 1900 census, they are in Chickasaw Co., Mississippi with 10 children. A widowed LAURA JANE is listed on the 1920 census in Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., Oklahoma, with her youngest sons, James R. and John T.

David and Annie Lee were married between 1900, when she was listed on the census in her father's household in Chickasaw Co., Mississippi, and the birth of their first child in 1907. They appear on the 1910 census in Forest Township, Pottawatomie Co., Oklahoma, with their first two children and a 23-year-old Emmit Wesley SULLIVAN in the household. (In the same township, Ada Mae SHIPLEY is listed in household of her father, Tom SHIPLEY.) In 1920, they are in Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., OK with 7 children; occupation--Farmer.

Emmit and Ada Mae were both listed on the 1900 census in the households of their fathers; Emmit in Chickasaw Co., Mississippi, and Ada Mae in Ellis Co., Texas. On the 1910 census, Emmit was living with his sister, Annie Lee Parker, and her family, and Ada Mae was in the household of her father, both in Pottawatomie Co., Oklahoma. The 1920 census has Emmit and Ada Mae and their first 4 children residing in Redmound Township, Seminole Co., Oklahoma.
