I have gotten so frustrated lately looking for information on Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. Using the search engine to find passenger lists for the Port of Charleston, I followed many of the links to pages giving information on passengers arriving in Charleston, and their lists were linked to a pay service. It is very frustrating to click on a link, only to find out the information is available only if you pay for it. The pay services are wonderful for those who what to use them and can afford to pay the fees. I personally believe that genealogy information should be available free of charge. Therefore this list of passenger lists are found on sites that do not charge for their information. I have researched each one of these links and at this time, none of them go to a pay service. If you reach a link listed on this page that reaches a site that charges for the information, please Contact Me and let me know and the link will be removed.

As time permits, ships passenger lists will be added to this site. This lists will start with ships arriving at the Port of Charleston but will also include ships arriving at any port in South Carolina. If you have a ships passenger list or any other information on ships arriving in South Carolina, please consider contributing it to this site to help other researchers in their quest to find their immigrant ancestors. To contribute your lists or other information, please see How to Contribute to SCTC. All contributed information is greatly appreciated by many people.
