to My Coffey Branch

 
 

This is my mother's side of my family.   The only Grandparents I knew came from this branch.  (Daddy's parents died before I was born).  My grandmother, (Hazel Naomi Coffey-Musgrave) was a very positive influence in my childhood.  She was also a very special person to me.   We lived with her, or near her until I was about 6 or 7 years old.   She was a no-nonsense person, but was always careing and loving.  Grandma was very religious, and LIVED her religion.  She didn't preach it, but she did influence me with it.

Grandma and grandpa Coffey (my great grandparents) were also special people.  I don't remember grandma Coffey very well, she died when I was fairly young.  But, grandpa Coffey I got to know well.  The picture that Norman Rockwell did with the "white haired, mustached" one, where he's looking through an old trunk with two young children, remind me a lot of my grandpa Coffey.  In that picture, the old guy had twinkle in his eye, and the two kids seem to be were having a ball.  That was my grandpa Coffey! He was always telling us stories, while he whittled, by the way.

Coffey is not a particularly unusual name, I have discovered.  Many in my Coffey branch spell it Coffee also.  I got these boards in the hopes that it will help some of you in hunting for your ancestors.  (Might also help me find some of mine).  These Boards are not just for my family, but any Coffey/Coffee searches.
