Splawn Family - Rutherford Co., NC
Stephen Splan/Splawn

1790 Camden District, SC

Splan, Stephen  pg 150       1-3-1  1 Male 16 & up/3 Males under 16/1 Female

Stephen is mentioned in a 1799 court record in Fairfield Co SC.

1800  Fairfield County    SC pg         231
21210-30010-00
Stephen is 26-45
[b. 1755- 1774], wife 26-45, two sons under 10, one 10-16, two 16-26, three daughters under 10
This tells me that his three sons that were listed as under 16 in 1790 are still living in the household.

After 1800, Stephen is not found in the SC census. Stephen's wife, Rosanna shows up in GA along with James and Richard Splawn but no Stephen. A GA document shows Rosanna and Stephen's orphans (curses, not named).

Probable children of Stephen Splawn

1) James Splawn 1784-after 1850
James Splawn (b 1784, Fairfield Co., SC; d after 1850, Smith Co., TX) married Sarah Cockrell. They supposedly had 7 children. I'm only sure of Jemima, Hansford S., and Stephen who married Amanda (possibly Stone).

1850 Census Smith Co. Tex Pg 125. Pg 43, dwell 302, Household of Nicholas Harvick, married to James' daughter Jemima.
