Splawn Family - Rutherford Co., NC
Sevrey (Sibia,
Sebrina) Splawn
wife of
John Splon/Splawn
20 June
1776. A
record of a sale of some land, Roll
C-300, vol 1,
pages 223, 224, Fairfield Co. In it, John's wife is identified as
Sibia. In 1794 Fairfield Co. is in Camden Dist. and Broad River runs
through it.
In 1776, both Joseph Helms and Mayberry Helms witnessed the sale of
land belonging to John Splawn - land that had been granted to John in
1765. These records lead me to believe that Sevrey might have been a
Helms. The name Mayberry carried through many later generations.
