Land
grant dated 12 Mar 1765 for 200 acres in Craven Co., South
Carolina, in the middle prong of Wateree Creek.
This land grant was probably for military service, dispelling the myth
that John immigrated from Scotland in 1765 (as I've seen posted around
the web...)
A
record of a sale of some land, 20 June 1776. Roll C-300, vol 1,
pages 223, 224, Fairfield Co. In it, John's wife is identified as
Sibia. In 1794 Fairfield Co. is in Camden Dist. and Broad River runs
through it.
