According to Gerry5 (Garnett) Savage, the Nelsonville Cemetery was not being well cared for at that time, (the care has improved and in 1996 seemed adequate) so her mother Alice4 (Stevenson) Garnett had the stone moved. The stone marked the graves of Henry, his second wife Elizabeth, his daughter Alice3 (York) Thompson and Alice's infant daughters. The location of the graves in the Nelsonville cemetery is probably near the grave of Robert4 Laycock whose stone is still there. |
