Last Will and Testament of Thomas White of Sterling, Vernon Co., Wis.

 I, Thomas White of the town of Sterling, county of Vernon, State of Wisconsin, being of sound 
mind, memory and mindfull of enervator of human life, do make, publish and declare this my last 
will and testament in manner following:

1st - The payment of my just debts and general expenses,

2nd - I give, devise & bequeath to my daughter Rebecca Hill (wife of J.M. Hill) forty (40) acres   
      of land situate in Vernon Co., state of Wis. And described as follows, Viz � The NE1/4 of 
      the NW 1/4 of sec 13 - Town 11 - Range 6.

3rd - I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Jane Adams (wife of Jesse Adams) forty (40) acres 
      of land situate in Vernon Co., State of Wis., and described as follows Viz The NW 1/4 of the 
      NW 1/4 of Sec 13 - Town 11 - Range 6. 

4th - I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Caroline Smith (wife of Warren Smith) forty (40) 
      acres of land lying in Vernon Co., State of Wis., and described as follows Viz, the SW 1/4 
      of the NW 1/4 of Sec 13 - Town 11 - Range 6. 

5th - I give, devise and bequeath to my son French B. White forty (40) acres of land lying in 
      Vernon Co., State of Wis., and described as follows: Viz, the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Sec 13 
      - Town 11 - Range 6. 

6th - I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Witcraft (wife of Wm Witcraft) forty (40) 
      acres of land lying in Vernon Co., State of Wis., and described as follows Viz, the SW 1/4 
      of the NE 1/4 of Sec 13 - Town 11 - Range 6. 

7th - The above parcels of land are given subject to the Payment of the sum of three Hundred (300) 
      dollars to my daughter Elizabeth wife of Henry Kendall - divided as follows, 
      Rebecca Hill   to pay as her share  $100.00
      Jane Adams      "  "  "   "    "     $50.00
      Caroline Smith  "  "  "   "    "     $50.00
      French B. White "  "  "   "    "     $50.00
      Mary Witcraft   "  "  "   "    "     $50.00
           Total                          $300.00

8th - All the rest, residue, and remainder of my Estate - both real and personals - I give, devise 
      and bequeath to my son French B. White and to my daughters Rebecca Hill - Jane Adams, 
      Caroline Smith, Mary Witcraft, Elizabeth Kendall to be equally divided between them and 
      their heirs, share & share alike the child or children of the deceased child.  Taking the 
      share which his or their parents would have taken if living. 

9th - My estate above bequeathed  as subject to the Dower Right of my wife Elizabeth White while 
      she lives.

10th - I hereby nominate and affirm my son French B. White and  - S.A. Mellen, the Executors of 
       this my last will and testament.  I hereby authorize and empower them, - the said French B. 
       White and S.A. Mellen, to compound, compromise, and settle any claim or demand which may be 
       against or in favor of my said Estate.

In Witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of October 1884.

 The above instrument consisting of one sheet has on this day and date thereof signed, published, 
and declared by the, by the said testator to be his Will and Testament in the presence of us who 
signed our names at his request as witnesses in his presence and in the presence of each other.
