Ruby Lee Jarvis Stice Ruby Lee Jarvis Stice was born on February 19, 1901 to Frank and Ada Jarvis in Munday, Knox County, Texas. Mrs. Stice passed on to her promised reward on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. There were fourteen children born to the Jarvis family and she was the last survivor.   She had been a resident at Trinity Towers and Mabee Center since 1992. She and her husband, Olie W. Stice, came to Midland in 1928 moving from Brownfield, Terry County, Texas. Mr. Stice was a contract mail carrier between Midland and Lovington, New Mexico until 1932, when the Stices' established the Cash and Carry Grocery Store in Midland at 122 South Main Street. Mrs. Stice was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Midland. As a stay at home mom, she spent her life making a loving home for her husband and two children and her presence will be missed by family and friends. She left her part of the world a kinder, gentler place. Her family gives thanks for her faithful walk with the Lord and the joy she gave us.   Her husband of 67 years predeceased her in 1988. Her daughter, Norma Jean Stice Fair, also predeceased Mrs. Stice in 1991.   She is survived by a son, Dale Stice and his wife, Mary Ann, of Midland, TX; five grandchildren, Bill Fair and his wife, Carla, of Midland, TX; Bobby Fair and his wife, Debbie, of Odessa, TX; Janet Stice Cox and her husband, Andy, of Arlington, TX; Travis Stice and his wife, Brenda, of Midland, TX; Derek Stice of Midland, TX; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.   The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the kind attendants at Trinity Towers and the Mabee Health Care Center at Manor Park and Hospice of Midland for their tender, loving care. Also, the family thanks Dr. Robert Vogel for his compassionate medical care and Ms. Betty Kempf for her faithfulness in attending to Ruby's spiritual needs for many years.    The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, June 23, 2005 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.   Graveside services have been scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2005 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 305 N. Baird St., Midland, Texas 79701-4701 or the Midland Association for Retarded Citizens, 2701 North "A" Street, Midland, Texas 79705.
