Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae Medii Aevi
Basically, it lists each parish, then gives some details on the parish and follows that with a list of each minister serving that parish from the 1600's through the 1920's. Each minister's "personal history" is briefly covered and the overall view is very interesting. I am told that there are also books with details of other Churches at The Scottish Library, specifically two volumes on the Free Church, but possibly many other denominations as well.

The Scottish Fasti Project is the brainchild of Paul Firth, of Cushnie Enterprises. It has been running now for nearly three years. www.cushnieent.force9.co.uk/project.html The project has the aim of creating an electronic database of all the pre-Reformation clergy in Scotland. Many sources have been used in this work and the database now stands at nearly 10,000 entries!! In the past, authors have concentrated on either diocesan clergy or monastic clergy. The Scottish Fasti Project has brought together all sources into the one relational database, which can be used, for research projects of various kinds. |
