Margaret McPhee Niven and families of her daughters Eliza Weir, Margaret Davidson, and Mary Jane Kennedy. Margaret McPhee, daughter of Alexander McPhee and Margaret Campbell McLean, married Donald Niven, son of Malcom Niven and Christian McGlugaish, in 1848 and they lived in Kilarrow. Sarah Minnie McPhee Morrison, daughter of Alexander McPhee and Margaret Campbell, born at Grobols, Parish of Kilarrow, Islay, in 1837. She married Neil Morrison in Grey County, Ontario, in 1852. When she died in Strathclair, Manitoba in 1831, Minnie Morrison left behind 58 grandchildren. Copyright David S. Millage |
Jessie McPhee Donald, daughter of Alexander McPhee and Margaret McLean, was born in Islay in 1832. Married George Donald of Owen Sound in 1858. Died in 1911 in Derby Township, Grey County, Ontario. Jessie McPhee was the central figure in the story "My Grandmother" by John Stuart Fleming, the tale of the McPhee family's life in Islay and journey to Canada. Copyright Angela and Alex |
