The following is a letter I've received from Gladys Aconley Hewitt. She is descended from our John Gilchrist's younger brother, Alexander.

February 9, 1998

Dear Steven,

How happy my grandfather would  have been to have received your letter.  He hoped
for word of the brother who went to U.S.A. up until his death.  I presume we are their
descendants.  I am the last one of that branch of the family.

I was a teacher here for 37 years but have been retired for quite a few years.  My
eyesight is only fair so this letter may be difficult to read (note, originally handwritten).

You have done well with "family tree".  I think I can add one more:   Mr. and Mrs.
George Beswick of Niagara Falls, U.S.A. (both deceased some years now).  We
visited them twice.  I think she would have belonged to the "Hoey" branch.   (Beryl -
no family).

We have been visited by the Kathryn French family several times.  She had me send
her pictures of Knox Church, etc. (only 2 sons living now).  Where did you see "Kith
'n Kin"??  You will know we received your letter - maybe answer some questions yet.

Sincerely,

Gladys (Aconley) Hewitt

I'm sure Gladys would love to hear from some of you...
