I am Reagan SPLADY host of Splady Homepage, born February 7, 1950, East Chicago, Indiana.  I graduated from Purdue University in 1972.  The next 9 years were spent between the ski slopes of Vail and Breckenridge, Colorado in the winter and the beaches of California and the Florida Keys.   It was a lot different in the 60s, all you needed was a part-time job that came with a ski-pass.  The yearly goal was to ski at least 120 days straightr, regardless of how may broken bones it took.  Free type competitive skiing was becoming popular, and we didn't use anything to break our fall in the learning process---- ya just went for it.
At the age of 29 I found myself in California when it occurred to me that it was time to get serious.  For the next 17 years I had a career as Surveyor/Supervisor for the County of Orange.  The thrill of skiing was now missing... then in 1986, I participated in my first Triathalon, consisting of swiming, biking and running, then Trianthalon races became more numerous over the years and to that I added marathons... I  have completed the Hawaiian Ironman Championship twice. To find out more visit:

At the age 38,  I tied the knot with Sue GANN [meet her HODSON family on her mother's side] on May 07, 1989 in Orange County, California.  I have two great step-kids, Jenny R. Ogles, age 26,  Terry V. Ogles, age 28  and his wife Carmen Navarro. To meet us visit:

In 1995 we followed our dream to Colorado, where we live in a "one-stop sign" town called Niwot, named for the left  handed Indian chief who stayed at that stop during the winter. It is 7 miles from Boulder. After 17 years in surveying Orange County California it is easy to see why I enjoy surveying in Colorado.    Share my View or Visit Sawtooth

I had always assumed the name Splady would end with me. With this in mind I became curious about the name.  It all started one night while surfing the Internet, a global search of SPLADY revealed a very short list, one being myself, another SPLADY in California, one in Minnesota, and one Frederick Splady I quickly connected via Internet to the last.  It was in fact, the family tree of Harriet Beech (Beach) and the only info given for her was her husband’s name, Frederick Splady. That started my interest in my family tree. Meet the SPLADY ACNESTORS and their descendants.
