GRAVE MARKING DEDICATION Lakeland Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Regent Gay Harlowe and Chaplain Marjorie Wagner conducted a special grave marking ceremony on Nov. 19 at Oak Hill Cemetery in honor of the late Jeannine Minisci, who had served as chapter regent from 1998 to 2002.

Minisci also served as past Florida State DAR chairman for community service committees and was co-chairman of the Florida DAR American Indians committee, Harlowe said. In addition, she served as queries editor for the Dutchess County New York Genealogy Society.

Minisci was further honored as the local chapter awarded the Jeannine Minisci Memorial Scholarship to Cynthia Mwachukwu, a pre-med student at the University of Florida.

Among those attending the ceremony were Marjorie Boyle, Jane Coughlan, Howard DuBose, Tommie DuBose, Pat Edwards, Mary Grove, Jean Maris, Robert Minisci, Paula Morgan, Marian Witherbee and Audrey Wittholz.

In addition, the Lakeland DAR chapter celebrates its 79th birthday with a luncheon Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Lakeland Yacht & Country Club. Florida State Regent Jean Mann is the guest speaker. She will discuss "What's Happening in Florida DAR."
