Thought for today:
"One of the greatest tragedies of life is the
murder of a beautiful theory by a gang of brutal facts."
Benjamin Franklin
You can't change your ancestors, but you can influence your descendants.
Become a family historian
Everyone has the moral right to know their family
and their family history.
More bios to be added, as time and collection of facts permit. I will add a bit of historical events that took place during the lifetime of each individual when I am able. Come again for a visit to view any new additions or corrections (there will be many).......
That is the way this hobby is.
Enjoy your family, past and present!
No matter how simple, writing a biography about family members or ancestors, puts them in a more human perspective than just looking at names in a book, database or family history page. Although they are gone, biographies make them 'come alive'.
Knowing your families past can have a positive effect on your future. Discover the roots from which you come. Get to know your ancestors and you will enjoy their memories. Good or bad, remember they were human.
Some facts and details are from my memory, some from research

I will try as I have time, to rewrite as many Bios as possible,
giving more information and sources. Upon checking the Internet, I have found my family
histories are riddled with errors. Some folks have not looked at their posted histories in months.
Small wonder. Genealogists must be careful to post their new findings. Also, be sure ALL facts are
accurate. Many copy from other sites that have many, many errors. Using this info can put you back
years in your research. Choose information wisely.
Research note: A/O 2 June 2014
I have given up researching the BECKER, GROS, KNECHT, LINDER, TESCHE, VOOS/VOHS,
WITTE, and WOLFERTZ families in Solingen, Germany and surrounding areas. These families
intermarried, had children with like or similar names and some were born within
1-3 months of one another. I could not solve the mysteries. What you see in the
posted bios is all I have discovered.
If you are courageous, give it a try......Accuracy is most important.
