1. Joseph Wiley1 Small was born in possibly Harris County, Ga. February, 1829, died 28 August 1906 in Garland Co., Ark., at 77 years of age. He was buried in the Cross Roads Cemetery, Pearcy, Ark.. He married three times. Joseph Wiley married first Martha Ann Holley 9 August 1849 in Yalobusha Co. Mississippi. She was born abt 1829 in Mississippi, died November, 1875 in Garland Co., Ark., at 46 years of age. (Additional notes for Martha Ann Holley ). Joseph Wiley married second Rutha N. Priddy 17 March 1876 in Garland Co., Ark.. She was born ABT 1843 in West Chickamunga, Walker Co., Georgia. Rutha was the daughter of John Carr Priddy and Rutha N. Hill. Rutha Priddy was married twice and had 3 sons before she married Joseph Wiley Small . Rutha died before 5 July 1900 in Garland Co., Ark., at approximately 57 years of age. Joseph Wiley married Emiline E. Matlock 5 July 1900 in Ussery, Ark. per her application for a widow's pension after his death.

x. CHARLES HOWELL SMALL, b. September 18, 1887, Meyers, Garland Co., AR; d. December 22, 1963, DeQueen AR.

2. JAMES TAYLOR2 SMALL (JOSEPH WILEY1) was born June 06, 1850 in Yalobusha Co., MS, and died May 13, 1917 in Hot Springs Co. AR. He married ROWENA JOSEPHINE HAWKINS July 26, 1868 in Montgomery Co., AR. She was born January 13, 1846 in Yolobusha Co., MS, and died August 14, 1914 in Hot Springs Co. AR.
