WEST SALEM - Norman W. Mann, 76, of West Salem, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at his home.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with Pastor Marta Mathatas officiating. Burial will be at West Salem Cemetery, were military rites will be conducted by the James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born March 8, 1927, in West Salem to Harry V. and Adeline G. (Flickinger) Mann and married Betty Palmer on Feb. 9, 1947. She survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1988, from Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. He was also engaged in farming.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are sons, Terry N. Mann of Greenwich, Jon David (Donna) Mann of Wooster, Thomas W. Mann of West Salem and Andrew (Julie) Mann of Akron; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Iris Shakley of West Salem, Lois Schondel of Wooster and Hilda Gracia of Dayton.

An infant daughter, Jayne Louise Mann, a sister, Alma Goings, and a brother, Kenneth Mann, died previously.
