L. Vernon Smith, 73, of West Salem, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Medina General Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with the Rev. Mike Rogers officiating. Burial will be at West Salem Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Lorna (Royse) Smith, whom he married in 1962; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Kenneth Withers of Ashland; a stepson, Robert Harris of West Salem; three grandchildren; five sisters, Lorene Caseman of Vanceburg, Ky., Icybell Terry of Mansfield, Nancy Mineer of Kentucky, Velva Patton of Vanceburg, Ky. and Marcella Grafe of Florida and two brothers, Ithel Smith of Vanceburg, Ky. and Odell Smith of Wisconsin.
