John William Rope was born 8 Oct 1875 in Landisburgh PA. He died 29 Jan 1932. A private in Company H of the 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, he served in the Spanish American War expedition to Santiago Cuba. He is the son of John H. and Martha Anna Sunday Van Rope, husband of Rosa Kain Rope.
