According to Hardesty's Historical and Geographical Encyclopedia [Wayne county OH version]page 501 in the Congress Township section:

Daniel Chacey was one of those who left home, wife and children, at the call of our country, and in her cause laid down the life so precious to the loved ones left behind. He enlisted in Congress township, Wayne county, August 10, 1862, and at Camp Mansfield, October, 17th following, was mustered into Company E, 120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.

But the Roster of Ohio Troops book has his date of entering service as 15 Aug 1862.
