Myrtle Kathleen Silver

Myrtle K. Silver, 90, of Bridgewater, passed away January 21, 2001 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater after a brief illness. Born in Oakhill, May 17, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Whitford Ernst and Martha (Mosher) Ernst.

Myrtle is survived by her son Frank and daughter-in-law Joan, Upper Branch; and one nephew Bernard Fraser, Oakhill. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, November 2, 1982; sister Helen Joudrey, Oakhill; and brother William Ernst, Oakhill.

Myrtle worked many years at Hofman’s Dress Shop on King Street. She was an active member of the P.C. Party. Bingo and card playing were enjoyable pastimes for her. She was a good neighbour and friend to many people in her younger years. Myrtle lived a long, healthy life but was very lonely after the death of her husband, Ray.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 24, 2001, 2 p.m. at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Rev. James Slack, Jr. officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Myrtle’s grand nephews — Gary Fraser, Darrell Fraser, Stephen Fraser, Robert Whynacht, Wayne Holman, and good friend Gerald Croft.
