Cecil Robert Silver
SILVER, Cecil Robert - 91, Rockland, Kings Co., passed away December 2, 2002, at 105 Orchard St., Berwick.
Born November 30, 1911, in Lower Northfield, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late John Levi and Bessie Suzanna (Jodrey) Silver. Cecil was a cooper by trade and had been employed with Minas Basin, later known as Avon Foods Ltd., Berwick, for 33 years. In 1946, he started planting his orchard which became a family farm that he and his wife turned into one of the largest growers of peaches and plums in the Annapolis Valley. He was a member of Berwick United Church.
Surviving are his son, Keith (Corinne) Silver, Rockland; daughter, Sherald (Reginald) Patterson, Berwick; grandchildren, Gary (Cheryl) Patterson, Gina (Curtis Dietz) Patterson, Gwen (Chris) Saunders, Melanie and John Silver; great-grandchildren, Clare and Chloe Patterson, Benjamin Saunders. He was predeceased by his wife, Gyneth Marguerite (Silver); brother, Kenneth Silver; sister, Blanche Lohnes.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, in Berwick United Church, Rev. Donald MacPherson officiating. Burial in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield or Berwick United Church.
