James Everett Biddix
GASTONIA - James Everett Biddix, 78, died March 26, 2000, at his residence. A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late James A. and Lula Biddix. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lessie Pittman. An Army veteran, he was a retired machinist from Cressman Machine Shop after 50 years, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lowell, where he served on the deacon board.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Silver Biddix; daughter, Brenda Eaves of Bessemer City; a brother, Clarence Biddix of Gastonia; sisters, Ilene Yelton of Gastonia, Opal Sheppard of Blacksburg, SC; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Lowell with Reverend James Drennan officiating. Burial was in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home.
