October 4, 2005Jerry Wayne DeaneJerry Wayne Deane, 75, of Greeley died Friday, Sept. 30, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit, Greeley.He was born on Feb. 1, 1930, in Eva, Okla., to George Merle Deane and Evelyn Josephine Deane (Woods).The family lived in the country in various places before building a farm home in the panhandle of Oklahoma.From 1950-54, he served in the Air Force and spent most of his service time in England. He was honorably discharged and began working for the Western Company.He lived in Ulysses, Kan., where he met his wife, Avis Yvonne Sigsbee. They were married at her mother's home in Dodge City, Kan., on Sept. 30, 1956. They moved to Liberal, Kan., in 1957 and to Hill City, Kan., in 1967. They then returned to Ulysses and lived there for 11 years. They moved to Greeley in 1979 where he and his wife managed Village Green Apartments for Carmel Cos. He retired in 1999 because of failing health.Mr. Deane dedicated his life to Jehovah in September 1963.He was a master plumber in Ulysses from 1968 through most of 1979. He was an excellent plumber desired by contractors/builders in Liberal, Hill City and Ulysses. He plumbed many of the feed yards in Kansas and the panhandle of Oklahoma.Survivors are his wife, Avis; a son, Robert L. and wife Coleen A. Deane; and two grandchildren, Justin Robert Deane and Jerra Nicole Deane. All are of Greeley. He also is survived by his mother, Evelyn Deane of Guymon, Okla.; three brothers, Merlin Gale Deane of Guymon, Billy Dixon Deane of Meade, Kan., and George Dewey Deane and wife Loyce of Alaska; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Merle Sigsbee Deane; his father, George Merle Deane and two sisters, Phyllis Deane and Betty Ruth Hirn (Deane).Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Pheasant Run Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4702 3rd St., Greeley.Contributions may be made to Pheasant Run Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, 4702 3rd St., Greeley, CO80634.Northern Colorado Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
